Friday September 10th
Registration deadline: Sept. 8th Guest scientists from the Botanic Research Institute of Texas and the Fort Worth Nature Center will join the Amon Carter Museum educator in connecting art and science while learning the ecological importance of our world’s wetlands and the short-and long-range implications of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. While viewing and discussing fine arts paintings and photographs, as well as live animals of this habitat, students will learn the important functions of wetlands, the characteristics of healthy wetlands, and the relationship between the animals and plants. Through a hands-on demonstration, students will gain a better understanding of the challenges our country faces in accomplishing the clean-up and recovery. Most sites will be view-only! |
